Level 5
At this age, children have rapidly expanding vocabularies and enjoy explaining their thoughts and ideas. They are good problem-solvers who are inclined to memorize information; but need assistance in creating skills to make generalizations or correlations between concepts.
In-Depth Data Analysis
By this age, children have been exposed to a few graphic representations of data, becoming familiar with the idea that numbers can be characterized in visual ways.

Level 5 takes this concept further, engaging students in activities that require the use of analytical tools while examining real-world, quantitative data sets. Students learn how to compare data; find measures of central value and spread; and begin to examine data distribution.
Reasoning with Properties
Children at this age have already begun their journey in developing geometric awareness; creating understandings of shapes that allow each one to be distinguished from another based on geometric properties.

Level 5 engages students in more advanced geometric analysis and reasoning; utilizing abstract thinking skills to reason with geometric relationships, analyze 2D and 3D objects, and utilize the coordinate system to arrive at new understandings.
Mathematical Functions
Children at this age are becoming more proficient at identifying mathematical patterns and the relationship of cause and effect.
Level 5 pushes students beyond the mere recognition of patterns, into the identification of the mathematical formula that are creating those patterns. Using the cause (function) and the effect (output), students are able to accurately pinpoint the relationship; discovering the function equation.
